Most people are unaware that there is weather in outer space. We are not talking about weather on Mars or on Titan where there is an atmosphere. We are talking about the vacuum of zero gravity space. It is not totally empty.
Sure space weather is different from weather here on Earth or on other worlds but in the sense of changing conditions, it definitely exists complete with solar winds, meteor showers, cosmic radiation, and magnetic storms.
So what? What has it got to do with you or me? It turns out, quite a lot. Not only can space weather result in interruptions of multi-billion dollar telecommunications and fried electronics but it can subtly affect stock prices and commodity prices.
